ESP COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

September 14, 2006

 

In attendance:  Pam Torngren, Linda Haley, Sonia Hews, Barb Vally, Cheri McQuade, Jean Clifton, Cheryl Neusmeyer, Helen McMahon, Sherri Delay, Sharon Buckenberger, Glen Shoup, Christine Leva, Dianne Patterson, Deborah Wayne, Marilyn Reimann, Karla DeCaro, Helen Lancaster, Satanya Rodgers, Monica Adkins. Debby Chandler, Sandy Burbridge, Dee Bartleson, Stacey Bright, Jennifer Clary, Linda Wagner, Francesca DePaolo. 

 

1.         Meeting was called to order at 4:00 by Debby Chandler. 

2.         No minutes to approve asked for a volunteer for new secretary.

3.         WEA/ESP Presidents Meeting is Saturday, October 7, at the SEA-TAC
            Marriott.  WEA will pay for two people from each bargaining unit to attend. 

4.         Agency fee:  Try to get fee payers to become active members.

5.         SEA Building Reps:  Allowed one rep per every 20 people in your building. 
6.         Take The Lead:  WEA moving to fund public education.  More information
            coming.

7.         Action Coordinating Team:  WEAs state ESP group that sponsor Issues
           Conferences across the state.  Next meeting is October 6th.

8.         Leadership Teams:  Formed to handle in-between bargaining issues.  Teams meet
            monthly and will report out.  Clerical unit needs a middle school rep.  Anyone
            interested should contact Maureen Ramos.

9.         Pay Warrants:  Read the back of Dr. Benzels September  letter to check 
            stipends.  If they arent listed correctly, contact payroll.

10.       Clock hours have chanted to a new format.  Stipend will be paid in June for all
            units.

11.       Training dates:  WEA training is April 21, 2007 all day.  SEA ESP trainings are
            pending.

12.       Member concerns: 

            Cant use Tri-time for these meeting 

            Budget cuts

            Collaborative time for IAs

            Holidays check contracts

            Subs
